Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

My garden is amazing this year. I took some pictures to share for those of you that appreciate the efforts of gardening. I have so many tomatoes this year, I am pleasantly surprised, this is my first season that I can actually say I had a bumper crop. To use up all those beautiful tomatoes, I created this delicious amazing slow cooker Spaghetti Sauce. Perfect for freezing for later use. This recipe makes a boat load of sauce. I am making crock pot after crockpot of this amazing spaghetti sauce and freezing it for later use. Here is an outstanding recipe that will be a real winner in your stock pile of recipes. It is so easy and simple to make and can be used for pasta, lasagna or even pizza sauce. Let me know what you think of this recipe. I love hearing from you. It always makes my day!

Ingredients
- 4 pounds fresh tomatoes (San Marzano or Plum)
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion chopped finely
- 2 cloves garlic chopped finely
- 2 (4 ounce) cans tomato paste
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley 2 bay leaves (disgard after cooking)
- 2 tablespoon fresh chopped oregano (substitute 1 tablespoon dry oregano)
- 2 tablespoon fresh chopped basil (substitute 1 tablespoon dry basil)
- 2 pinches red pepper flakes or more if you like your sauce spicy
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add olive oil, onion and garlic cloves, red wine, tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper and spices. Allow sauce cook on low for 12 hours. Divide up into four countainers for freezing. Simple and Delicous!
Notes
- I makes enough to feed a small army - I'm just sayin! I recommend freezing it for later use.
