My kids are always asking me to make dessert. More often than not, I don't usually make dessert unless we are having company over for dinner. And if the truth be known I love simple desserts. I usually spend the bulk of my time cooking and when it comes to dessert, I like simple and easy dessert recipes. This recipe is perfect in my opinion. It is so easy to make and doesn't take much time at all. The results were amazing. I did use a prepared Oreo cookie crust. Not so good for appearance sake, but once it was sliced it looked amazing. The grated dark chocolate really added to the dish and made it look decadent. If I made it again, I will make my own crust. I don't like the look of the foil on the prepared crust. The perfectionist in me is coming out. This recipe will go well with numerous types for ice cream. One that pops into my mind is mint chocolate chip. The presentation would be very nice. And for the upcoming holidays, peppermint ice cream or cinnamon ice cream would be amazing. The possibilities are endless. Ingredients
  1. Prepared Oreo cookie pie crust
  2. 1/2 Gallon Moose Tracks Ice Cream - slightly softened
  3. Cool Whip
  4. Dark Chocolate Bar
Instructions
  1. Spoon Moose Tracks Ice Cream into prepared Oreo cookie crust. Spread evenly to cover entire pie crust. Layer cool whip over ice cream. Shave dark chocolate over cool whip. Cover loosely with foil and freeze for two hours. Remove from freezer ten minute before slicing and serving.
Notes
  1. This recipe can be made with your favorite flavor of ice cream. Or if you have leftover Halloween candy you could use some in vanilla ice cream to create your own flavor. A few ideas would be Snickers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Peppermint Patties, Butterfingers . . . you get the idea.
