Here is a new and refreshing twist on summer limeade or lemonade. Add a little Guava nectar for a more tropical punch to the flavor. As the weather is heating up here in New Mexico, I want tastier drinks available, to help keep my family hydrated. We have had a mild spring, making me and my garden so very HAPPY! I love this time of year, longer days, flowers blooming, working in the garden, enjoying the peace that comes with it all. And the icing on the cake so to speak is being able to share it all with you. I love hearing from you through social media, it really makes my day. And speaking of day, the days are starting to get a little warmer. I read that it is supposed to really heat up over the next week, mid-nineties, yikes, not sure I am ready for that. But, as the days heat up having plenty of refreshing drinks becomes very important. Our humidity is often in the single digits here in the greater southwest so it is extremely important to drink plenty of fluids. I try to make herbal teas and fresh limeade or lemonade, to have something refreshing to reach for. It really helps my family to drink more fluids as well. I love adding fresh mint, or lemon balm to my drinks it really enhances the flavor. I grow nearly a dozen types of mint and lemon balm in my garden. Pineapple mint, regular mint, spearmint, chocolate mint, orange mint, peppermint, orange mint and another English mint. So I have plenty to choose from. My neighbors often come over and pick some for their cocktails. I love being able to share it. I really do want to encourage you to add fresh mint or lemon balm to your summer drinks, it really does enhance the flavor. Adding it to your water is also a great idea. Please let me know what you think. Until next time – Bon Appetit, Cecelia
