Fresh Homemade Lemon Limeade

Fresh Homemade Lemon Limeade is one of my personal favorites, especially on a hot summer's day. This recipe is made for entertaining, but can always be scaled back. One of the many benefits of summer is that the citrus are juicy and extra-large in size, due to the fact that they are in season. The sliced limes and the fresh mint add so much flavor to this drink. It amazes me, every time I serve it I will have kids ask me, "Is this homemade? It is so good, what's in it? I want my Mom to make this." I tell them it is fresh lemons and limes and I add fresh mint from my garden. Truly, it is the mint, just a little of this herb goes a long way. If you have the time allow this to set-up for a few hours, so that the mint, lemon and lime juice can completely marry. This recipe makes for some an awesome drink when entertaining. And there is nothing like a fresh made class of lemon limeade on a hot summer's day! Mint is so good for you, it helps aid in digestion and is a great palate cleanser. It also helps reduce inflammation in the body and helps relieve upset stomach. It also aids in bad breathe. Not bad for a great summer's drink! Total Time
10 min
Ingredients
- Fresh Homemade
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (4 - 6 lemons)
- 1 cup fresh lime juice (6 - 9 limes)
- 2 liters 7 up
- 2 limes sliced for garnish
- 4 sprigs fresh mint for garnish
Instructions
- Juice lemons and limes and add into serving dispenser. Add 7 up and mix well. Add sliced limes and mint for garnish. Serve over ice.
Notes
- Please note no additional sugar is needed the 7up is enough to sweeten the entire dispenser. Also, on a side note: strain the pulp, it causes the dispenser to clog when serving. This lesson was learned the hard way! Wink, wink!
