World famous Kansas City barbecue refers to the specific style of slow smoked meat that evolved from the pit of Henry Perry in the early 1900s in Kansas City, Missouri right in the heartland of the United States. My husband is from Kansas City and grew up right on the state line, which is a street that divides Kansas and Missouri. He lived on the Missouri side of state line. He knows his barbecue and is mighty proud about that. (Most people from Kansas City are proud about their barbecue.) This recipe was inspired by our most recent discovery a new barbecue sauce and Ted says it definitely ranks up there with some of Kansas City’s finest, it is TJ’s Kansas City Style Bold and Smokey Barbecue Sauce, found at Trader Joes. I must say when I tasted it I was very impressed it is bold and tangy, just what I like in a barbecue sauce. I give it Five STARS. I think you will enjoy this recipe for Kansas City Barbecue Chicken.
