What do you do when you son tells you he need cookies for class the next morning at 10:30pm the night before. Well I ran to the grocery store and bought prepared sugar cookie dough and doctored it up with an almond glaze and lots of sprinkles. They were a giant hit. I don't think anyone suspected I cheated and used prepared dough to make these yummy holiday treats. Mission accomplished . . . except for the fact that I just told on myself. I am fairly sure this might come in handy for others, so I am sharing the idea. Wishing you peace, love and joy this holiday season. Cecelia

Cook Time
8 min
Ingredients
- 1 package prepared sugar cookie dough (the kind that are already divided)
- Sprinkles, sprinkles and more sprinkles
Almond Glaze
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon whole milk + more
Instructions
- Preheat oven according to package directions. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Divide each cookie portion into four pieces, yes that is correct four pieces. Here is the thing when using prepared dough it falls apart. So if you make the cookies tiny they are perfect. Plus they cook much faster this way. So a package of 24 will yeild 96 cookies! How awesome is that? Bake cookies for 6 - 8 minutes or until lightly brown. To make glaze mix powdered sugar, almond extract and milk. Mix until smooth. Add more milk as needed. A few drops go a long way. If it is too runny add more powdered sugar. After cookies have cooled about 10 minutes, drizzle with almond glaze and sprinkle away. Use a variety of sprinkles to get the best results.
