The temperatures are finally cooling down and I feel like baking again. Funny how cool temperatures inspire that way! But seriously, I am enjoying the cooler weather. I was an unusually hot summer here in the land of Enchantment. Something like 2 1/2 months of 90 degree or higher. (YUCK!)
So inspired by the cooler temps . . . I made the most amazing Apple Spice Bars with a creamy Maple Cream Cheese Frosting. If that doesn’t sound like fall – I don’t know what does. This recipe goes a long way due to the fact that you bake them on cookie sheets. You will also LOVE how moist these dessert bars are. Plus they go great with a hot cup of coffee or tea for breakfast or an afternoon snack!

Try adding a small “Brachs Pumpkin Candy” and make them more festive for a Halloween treat. The “spice” in spice bars come from a tasty spice mix. It is a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and all spice! These Apple Spice Bar with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting using real “Maple Syrup” and added “Maple Extract” for added flavor! You are gonna LOVE them!

The key ingredient to many of my baked goods is this “Vanilla Bean Paste” it has real vanilla beans in it! It really takes a recipe up to another level. Seriously – the tiny little vanilla beans are loaded with extra flavor. I use vanilla bean paste over vanilla extract in nearly all my recipes that call for vanilla extract. (All except frosting!)
