Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef stew meat
- 1 package Lipton onion soup mix
- 4 cup water
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 cups chopped carrots
- 2 cups celery
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cups chopped potatoes
- 3 bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon Thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- Garnish with fresh parsley or chives
Instructions
- Directions: In large stock pot sauté cubed beef season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Allow the beef to slightly brown on all sides. Transfer to crock pot and add beef stock or water, wine, Lipton onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, thyme, and bay leaves. Set crock pot on low for 8 hours. Four hours later add potatoes, carrots, and celery. Season again with salt and pepper again. move from heat and serve. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives and serve with crusty banquette.
Notes
- Tip: add the vegetable in four hours after the beef has cooked so they don't become mushy and over cooked.
