This is an amazing and yet simple recipe for a Blood Orange Breakfast Smoothie. Blood oranges are in season and you can find them at most local grocery stores. No worries they are not a GMO product. The blood orange comes from a natural mutation that occured between two varieties of oranges. The red crimson color is very distinct and quite beautiful. The blood orange dates back to around 1800 and is not clear if it first came from the Mediterranean or from China. The blood orange is a one of my favorite recipe inspirations. When they are in season I go to town creating salads, smoothies and juicing them. They are amazingly delicious. I hope you enjoy my latest creation "The Blood Orange Breakfast Smoothie" until next time . . . Bon Appetit, Cecelia
