I love to entertain especially once the weather is warmer and I can be outdoors. And when I do entertain this recipe for Baked Beans is one dish that I usually make. The recipe is very simple and easy to make. You gotta love that! Your guests will rave about these Baked Beans! In the warmer summer months ahead this dish will go well with barbecue, burgers or hot dogs. Happy cooking.

Cook Time
20 min
Ingredients
- 2 (16 ounce) cans of baked beans
- 1 small sweet white onion, finely chopped
- 4 strips of bacon, chopped into small pieces**
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- ¼ cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup molasses
Directions
- In large pot over medium heat fry the bacon until crispy, remove bacon and set aside.
- Add onion to pot and let sauté until tender.
- Add baked beans, mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, and molasses.
- Bring to a simmer.
- Chop bacon into small pieces and add the bacon back into mixture.
- Allow to heat thoroughly about 20 minutes then remove from heat and serve immediately.
- And serve it up!
Notes
- **(I actually prefer burnt ends from brisket – if you have them on hand or can purchase them you can use ½ cup chopped burnt ends instead of the bacon. You then would use 1 tablespoon butter to sauté the onion.)
