Skeleton Cupcake

Here is yet another fun Halloween Cupcake idea for your Halloween Celebration. If you are single or a family with younger children like mine it is fun to make and decorate cupcakes. Halloween really is the beginning of the Holiday season at my house. We have a huge pumpkin carving party and I decorate the house and the yard for weeks in preparation for the big event. My closest friends bring pumpkins large and small to carve and create unique pumpkins. Every year I make ton of great party food like Chili for Frito Pie and Chili Dogs, Chile con Queso, Apple Crisp and some fun desserts. Then as the sun goes down we light up all the pumpkins and pick the winners. I award the winners with fun Halloween goodies from candy to hairy rats and the children all receive goody bags with spider rings, skeleton necklaces and bouncy balls. It is great FUN!
This year I wanted to make special cupcakes and found these awesome kits at Wal-Mart. They are made by Wilton they make it easy to create fun and unique cupcakes. It also gave me the opportunity to play with my new pastry tips. This tips was #18. I hope you find some time to have fun and get creative this Halloween. Ingredients
- Ingredients for Halloween Cupcakes
- Betty Crocker Spice Cake Mix
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (high altitude only)
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- Betty Crocker Whipped Butter Cream Frosting
- Wilton Halloween Cupcake Kit (Wal-Mart)
Instructions
- Mix and bake cupcakes according to package directions. Allow to cool before you frost them.
- Once the frosting is mixed and the cupcakes have completely cooled I put the frosting into my handy dandy pastry bag and used the #18 tip from my tip collection. I started along the edge of the cupcake and moved around until I finished in the center. If you have never used a tip before practice a few times on a paper towel so you get the hang of it. WOW – what great fun! I had a blast and so did everyone at Casa Linda!
