There is nothing as good as a bowl of homemade Macaroni and Cheese. This is certainly the ultimate comfort food. When I was in college Mac-n-cheese was my go to meal. Back then it was Kraft macaroni and cheese in the box. This is a step up from those days. I have made this for every birthday party since my son was born in 2000. The kids rave about it and I have passed out the recipe over and over again. It is so yummy and so satisfying that it is hard to just eat one serving. I am excited to share it with you and your family. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Bon Appetite, Cecelia
Mac-n-Cheese
In large sauce pan melt butter on medium heat, add flour, Lawry’s seasoning salt and cayenne pepper mix well and let cook about 2 – 3 minutes, and then slowly add cold milk. Keep mixing and bring to a boiling temperature and then reduce heat and allow to cook about 10 minutes, and then add cheese. Mix until all cheese is fully melted. Turn off heat and set aside. In separate pan cook macaroni according to package directions until macaroni is aldente (usually 1 or 2 minutes less than package recommends). Drain macaroni and mix with cheese sauce in baking dish. Mix bread crumbs and parmesan cheese in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle on top. Cook at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Then turn up to 450 degrees for about 2 – 4 minutes or until the top is lightly browned. Serve immediately. Makes 8 – 10 servings.
